LUCKNOW: In a shocking incident, five members of a family were found brutally murdered inside a hotel room in the Naka area of Lucknow on Wednesday morning. The victims include a woman, Asma, and her four daughters—Aliya (9), Alishiya (19), Aksa (16), and Raheeman (18).
The gruesome discovery was made by hotel staff who alerted the police. Preliminary investigations revealed that the family, originally from Agra, had checked into Hotel Sharanjeet a day earlier to celebrate the New Year.
Police have arrested Asma’s son, Arshad, on suspicion of his involvement in the murders. According to authorities, Arshad, who had accompanied the family to Lucknow, was acting suspiciously and was missing from the crime scene when the bodies were discovered.
Motive Under Investigation
Speaking to the press, Police Commissioner Prashant Kumar stated, “Arshad is in custody and is being interrogated. We are investigating personal and financial disputes as possible motives behind the heinous crime.”
Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene, and the bodies have been sent for postmortem examination. Initial reports suggest that the victims were strangled, although the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy.
Shockwaves in Agra and Lucknow
The murders have sent shockwaves through both the family’s hometown of Agra and Lucknow. Neighbors described Asma as a kind-hearted woman dedicated to her children.
